Britten Pears Arts

“Each musician has to be idiosyncratic to be different, but also conformist in order to reach out and convince, rather than alienate. There is no right or wrong”. No living singer is more closely identified with the music of Benjamin Britten than Ian Bostridge and his appearances at Aldeburgh represent a kind of homecoming.  Bostridge and his regular duo partner Julius Drake lead a masterclass on one of the great vocal treasure troves of the 20th Century. An unmissable opportunity to work on this extraordinary repertoire with two of its finest exponents. Composers from the Aldeburgh English Song Project will also join this course, with new work by them being prepared alongside the Britten repertoire.
