Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera
The workshops will be led by three outstanding tutors:
- Anita Garanča : voice teacher at the Latvian National Opera in Riga and former professor at the Latvian Academy of Music, who has taught, among others, her daughter Elina Garanča and Maija Kovalevska.
- Dmitry Vdovin : artistic director of the Young Artists Program at the Bolshoi Theatre, whose students have won major international competitions and have become principal artists. These include Internationally renowed artists such as tenors Dmitry Korchak and Maxim Mironov, sopranos Albina Shagimuratova and Katerina Siurina-Castronovo, baritones Vassily Ladyuk and Rodion Pogossov, tenors Sergey Romanovsky and Pavel Kolgatin, bass Nikolay Didenko and many others. They appear on major international opera stages ( Met, Bolshoi, La Scala, Covent Garden, Opera de Paris, Wiener Staats Oper etc.)
- Andrejs Žagars : renown stage director and general director of the Latvian National Opera.
- Paola Larini : an outstanding Italian language coach who regularly collaborates with opera companies such as : La Monnaie, Théâtre de Bordeaux, Theater an der Wien and Polish National Opera.
Individual and group workshops are planned. The classes will concentrate on one hand on vocal topics, on the other will include such subjects as work on the gesture and stage movement, constructing a role, working on duets and ensembles.
In addition a series of individual lessons with Paola Larini – Italian language coach are planned.
These workshops may be also a good opportunity for those who wish to participate in the 8th International Stanislaw Moniuszko Vocal Competition to work on Polish – though not only – repertoire. Polish piano-coaches will additionally advise on spelling and voice technique.
Public Performances: Final concert at the Chamber Hall of the Teatr Polski in Warsaw - On 24 February.
Teachers: Anita Garanča, Andrejs Žagars, Dmitry Vdovin, Paola Larini and Tatiana Dranczuk (pianist, coach for Russian and Polish).
