TRAINING

Le Nozze di Figaro: semi-staged

with Ryland Davies and Alfonso Romero

23 - 29 November 2019

This practical workshop for singers and a stage director's assistant will focus on working Le nozze di Figaro’s first (excerpts) and second (complete) act. It will pay attention to all aspects involved in the preparation of a semi-staged opera.

The participants will have sessions of style and voice perfecting with Ryland Davies (vocal coach) and stage rehearsing with Alfonso Romero (stage director). These sessions will count with the piano répétiteurs Duncan Gifford and Madalit Lamazares and the Italian phonetics expert Cecilia Folleti.

A public concert will be given at the end of the workshop on 29 November in Reina Sofia Music School's hall: the Auditorio Sony. It will give an overview of the content of the workshop programme.

The main objective is to do a semi-stage production for preparing the singers to perform at an accurate and professional level.

This workshop can help young artists, especially singers, to develop and deepen their understanding of Mozart’s repertoire as they will benefit from Ryland Davies’s great experience and knowledge of this music. It will help them to deal with the challenges of this repertoire, as well as with regards to technical skills and levels of interpretation.
The director’s assistant will collaborate actively and also even direct some of the scenes.
